How to Add Additional LPT Ports in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to add additional LPT ports (Printer Ports) in Windows Server 2003. By default, there are 3 LPT ports available in Windows Server 2003. These ports are LPT1, LPT2 and LPT3. You can add additional LPT ports, up to LPT9. After you add additional LPT ports,  the ports are displayed as available printer ports in the Add Printer Wizard.

How to Analyze Computer Security Settings against a Security Template in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to compare computer security settings against built-in security template settings in Windows Server 2003. A physical file representation of a security configuration that can be applied to a local computer or  imported to a Group Policy object (GPO) in Active Directory. When you apply a security template  to a GPO, Group Policy processes the template and makes the corresponding changes  to the members of that GPO, which can be users or computers.

How to Disable the Shut Down Tracker in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to disable the shut down event tracker in Windows Server 2003. When Shutdown Event Tracker is enabled, the expected shutdown dialog box appears when you click Start and then click Shutdown, or when you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and then click Shutdown. Should an unexpected restart or shutdown occur, the unexpected shutdown dialog box will appear to the first person with shutdown user rights who logs on to the computer. You can disable the shut down tracker for the entire domain; we are disabling it for a local computer in this demo.

How to Test a Simple and Recursive Query on the DNS Server in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to test a simple and recursive query on a DNS server in Windows Server 2003. A simple query tests forward lookup zones and a recursive query tests reverse lookup zones.

How to View the Current Domain Naming Master in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to identify the current domain naming master in Windows Server 2003. The domain controller holding the domain naming master role controls the addition or  removal of domains in the forest. There can be only one domain naming master in the entire forest.

How to Install and Use RSoP Snap-in Tool in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to install and use the RSoP snap-in tool in Windows Server 2003. Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) is an addition to Group Policy that makes policy implementation and troubleshooting easier. RSoP is a query engine that polls existing policies and planned policies, and then reports the results of those queries. It polls existing policies based on site, domain, domain controller and organizational unit.

How to Configure a NAT Server in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you the way to configure your windows server 2003 computer to be a Nat server. Nat us an Internet Protocol (IP) translation process that allows a network with private addresses  to access information on the Internet. If the NAT routing protocol is installed and configured on a  server that runs Routing and Remote Access, internal network clients with private Internet Protocol  (IP) addresses can access the Internet through the external interface of the NAT server. This is much like of a proxy server but it does not have any cache.

How to Disable the Automatic 8.3 Name Generation in Windows Server 2003.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to disable automatic 8.3 name generation in windows server 2003. Many viruses and utilities that are used by attackers are 16-bit applications that expect file names to be compatible with 8.3 automatic name generation. Secure domain controllers do not run 16 bit applications locally. Therefore, disable 8.3 automatic name generation to prevent these viruses and utilities from compromising security on your domain controllers.

How to Configure Maximum Incoming and Outgoing Connection Limits in ISA Server 2000.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to configure ISA server for maximum incoming and outgoing web connection limits in ISA server 2000. You can configure the maximum number of concurrent outgoing and incoming connections for all the ISA Server computers in the array. The minimum value is 1 connection. For incoming connections to ISA server ports, listeners, authentication and Cache Array Routing Protocol (CARP) should be configured.

How to Publish Automatic Discovery Information in ISA Server 2000.

The objective of this demo is to teach you how to configure ISA server 2000 to be automatically discovered by clients. The automatic discovery feature of ISA Server allows you to configure clients so that they automatically discover the appropriate ISA Server computer. In this way, roaming clients can connect to the ISA Server computer, as appropriate and when necessary. By enabling automatic discovery, Web Proxy and Firewall clients all automatically discover the appropriate ISA Server computer. In this demo, we will learn how to configure ISA server to publish automatic discovery information and configuring the DNS Server to provide WPAD (Web Proxy Auto Discovery Protocol) information. Automatic discovery can be configured using DNS for clients running Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, and Windows ME.
