Objective: The objective of this demo is to teach you the process of aliasing a client to an alternate pipe using Client Network utility in Microsoft SQL Sever 2000. Named Pipes clients usually connect using the server instance name on the default pipe. However, if a server is set up to listen on an alternate pipe, the client must also be configured to communicate to that pipe.
